Yadab’s tour of Kathamandu is by far the best activity and walking tour we’ve ever done. Yadab has so much knowledge of his city, and taught us so much about matriarchal traditions and spirituality, linking to all the main sights and symbols throughout Kathmandu. He has given us a really unique perspective of the city and made us appreciate the intricacies so much more. He was a joy to spend half a day with - not only being infectiously passionate about what he does, but also being a really lovely person. I cannot recommend this walking tour enough! Thank you Yadab 🙏🏼
I genuinely enjoyed this tour. Yadab did a great job explaining everything adding lots of details. He definitely knows what he is talking about. If you are looking for a tour that goes beyond a „typical“ sightseeing tour, I highly recommend this one!
We went on a tour through the matriarchal past of the Kathmandu Valley. It was really interesting how the religious tradition changed from having a mother goddess at the center to the modern way of Hinduism and how some sparks of this old way still lingers on and can be seen in many places. He told us about the power of creating, how trans and intersex people played an important role and what all this had to do with the living goddess Kumari. On our two hour long tour we visited many temples and also Durbar Square. There we also got some general Infos about the place, it's history and meaning, besides it's matriarchal traces. I can recommend this tour for everyone who wants to get a new perspective on the subtle details of a rich, intricate and sometimes (for a foreigner) overwhelming culture. There are many details and patterns one can miss while wandering the city and Yadab manges to sharpen the eyes for those. We had some issues on finding the right starting places but Yadab got in touch the moment we felt lost. Keep in mind: You don't need to leave the street and wander into a luxury complex, the tour starts outside. So all in all, very interesting tour with someone who knows what he's talking about about a topic unseeable for the untrained eye.
