Free walking tours in Almaty

It was better than I expected. Had a great time with the fellow travelers. Our guide was extremely nice and well informed.

The tour is quite long and it gets better when you start asking questions, as many information might not be directly transmitted because its not main stream. I really enjoyed the personal side offered by my guide, but I found disrespectful people who would be just talking or minding their business in the middle of the guide intervention.

It was a very refreshing take on Almaty with a cheerful Aiguerim who ensured there was never a dull moment. Couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to Almaty!

Aiguerim is a fantastic guide! She made sure all of our questions were answered and took lots of time to get us all to try different traditional foods from the Green Market in Almaty!

Had a great time with Aika who was very knowledgeable. The chocolate shop at the end was fun, and we also had a surprise taste test of some traditional milks and snacks in the market which was great!

Aika was a wonderful tour guide, providing lots of interesting information both about Almaty and about Kazakh and nomadic culture and history more broadly. She had lots of time of questions and showed an interest in us as well.

We enjoyed an engaging walking tour through the city center of Almaty. It offered valuable insights into the city's history, allowed us to sample local cuisine, and took us past several notable monuments and landmarks. Overall, it was a worthwhile experience. My only suggestion for improvement would be to include more social context about the country. The tour focused primarily on historical sites and factual information, with little reference to contemporary societal issues such as politics, daily life, or civil liberties. I'm not sure whether this omission was intentional or due to a lack of in-depth knowledge on the subject.

It's a good tour I think, by far the most interesting I did in central Asia.

Did the tour with Alguirim and liked that she explained a lot about the city and country. She answered all questions and tried to show us the local life. Although the tour was nice I would personally like to see more places in Almaty. The pace was quite slow and I’d spend less time on food and souvenirs.

Very lovely person, I appreciate her enthusiasm towards her own city and cultural background. A good orientation of the city. She also prepared bus ride fare for us so the walk was not too tiring even though the sites looks far apart.

Aiguerim was a delight, enthusiastic and knowledgeable I could see all of us in the group liked her as she did her to make us feel at ease. I used to be a tour guide myself and it takes a lot of research and knowledge to then relay things with ease to the group. This is a great tour to do on your first day in Almaty. Aiguerim is passionate about her city, its history and enjoyed providing us with information & answering all our questions. I'd definitely recommend this tour.

The walking tour was really insightful and fun, we learned about Almaty & Kazakhstan history in the historical place like War Monument. Then also taking bus, went to bazaar to try some local snacks and specialities. Aiguerim also accommodated and answered each participant patiently. All in all I really enjoyed the tour, thank you so much Aiguerim!
