My name is Gabriel Pech, journalist by profession, history buff and guide for 4 years in the city of Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico. I speak the Mayan language, and also English. For more than 10 years I have been promoting the use and customs of the Mayan culture in the state. It will be an honor to guide you in this beautiful colonial city called Mérida, a piece of paradise on the soil of Mexico. I am sure that you will enjoy this tour that aims to enrich and highlight the historical, cultural and recreational details of this beautiful city. On Sunday mornings we will visit the Lucas de Gálvez market to see the colorful fresh fruits of the region and the Sunday atmosphere.
Gabriel was an amazing tour guide. He took us to try a variety of tacos from different stalls at the markets and also was very knowledgeable about the food and flavours!! I would highly recommend going on a tour with Gabriel :)
A wonderful food tour of Merida. Gabriel was knowledgeable and explained what we we eating and the history. We walked through the markets and he explained what was around us and took us to local places we would have found, and ordered food we would never seen. A true gastronomic lunch tour of Merida. Eat as much or as little as you want, but watch out because you can quickly get full. We had a great time and would do it again, just for the food. Definitely recommended.
Great historic tour of Merida. Gabriel has a vast knowledge and shared it throughout the walk. Lots of explanation about the buildings, peoples, cultures, and architecture of Merida and the Yucatán. It wasn’t a long walk, so suitable for smaller kids (we had a 6yo on our tour), and older people. I would do it again, and still learn more. Definitely recommended.
Great tour with Gabriel, would recommend.
Gabriel was fantastic! Fun tour, explained everything with details and enthusiasm! We really enjoyed the tour! We absolutely recommend a tour with Gabriel!
