Free walking tours in Manila

What an amazing tour, we learned loads about the history of the Philippines, ate the best dumplings in Manila and got to explore Intramuros as a bonus. The Chinese history museum was great. Our guide was warm and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend!!

I had a wonderful tour with Joyce. She went all out to accommodate what I wanted to see. She was cheerful and joyful. She even suggested places to visit that I should not miss. She was very caring and was looking out for safety. She made my tour worthy and wonderful.

“Streets of Manila: Everyday Local Life”

Xyza was just outstanding…top-notch in every way. She is so knowledgeable and entertaining as a storyteller, but also genuinely kind, caring and receptive to her guest request. Her professionalism in running the tour was impressive. Even as a Filipino living abroad, I learn a lot more about our history and culture. She threw in several personal touches that added to our experience. I had a lunch with her thanking her for a great service.

Guide was very passionate about Filopino and Chinese culture. Full of interesting and revealing facts if you are a history and culture buff. This was supported by about half the tour spent in the museum. A great variety if questuons were answered informatively.

Xyza was an amazing guide. She explained everything clearly and gave us plenty of great recommendations.

Manila's Best: A Guided Tour of History, Tradition and Culture

This tour is fun and super educational. Set in Chinatown, the oldest in the world, Xyza in her enthusiastic and friendly way imparted an intriguing “college-level” lesson in Philippine history and how this country and its culture came to be. The stroll through the market place was colorful and inviting. The walking pace was comfortable and easy enough for almost anyone.

Xyza was extremely knowledgeable and eager to share all of the history of Chinatown and surrounding area. She also did an excellent job sharing the street food and explaining what it was. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone

Manila's Best: A Guided Tour of History, Tradition and Culture

Overall, a good experience, though a bit confusing at first. The photo and name on GuruWalk and WhatsApp do not match the actual guide adertised, but Anna—our guide—was very friendly and knowledgeable. The tour starts at the museum inside Lucky Chinatown Mall, where you’ll need to buy your own ticket (around 120 for adults). It begins with a 30-minute crash course on Filipino history, followed by a guided walk through the exhibits covering key events, personalities, traditions, and food. This part was very informative and enjoyable. Anna is a good story teller. Afterward, the tour continues through Chinatown, with stops at local restaurants and food recommendations. However, this section felt too long. The tour was scheduled for 2 hours but lasted about 4 hours. We felt there were too many useless stops in many shops, including extended time inside the mall and market to buy cheap knockoffs/ stuff? The final part included a short local taxi ride (tuk-tuk style) to Intramuros, with visits to St. Augustine Church and the main square with the cathedral and Palacio del Gobernador. Overall, a nice and informative tour with a great guide, but it would benefit from a shorter Chinatown (we teally don’t need to spend that much time inside the mall circling around) segment and better time management.

Anna is truly incredible and goes above and beyond to give a great tour! We learned so much about the Philippines and Manilla, and ate some incredible food.
