Marseille Food Tour

Excellent food tour of Marseille. I am not new to the city but Florent showed me plenty of hidden gems I will return to. A very original tour!

The gastronomic tour of Marseille was great. Even with some shops closed for january 1st, each stop was appreciated, true local shops, non-touristy, little gems. Special shout out to Lina the patisserie and the spices shop. Florent was very informative and responsive to our many questions about Marseille, france in general and especially cuisine and traditions. Highly recommended!

He is very creative to start this food tour flavors of the world. He is knowledgeable, informative with great sense of humor. He is like a local friend for us. If anyone on a tight schedule and can only afford to join one tour, this is a must go tour. We took his advice to dine in 1860 Le Palais and Helin Kebab. They are both fantastic. Florent rock ! He also open up our eyes to see and taste the African Arab part of Marseille which we would never know of.

Really nice and delicious tour. Don't eat too much before the tour! You'll pass lots of nice food spots. Florent is very friendly, enthousiastic and entertaining. Don't expect a lot of historical facts, this is a tour that will help you to orientate on nice places to visit and of course on the culinary part of Marseille!

Die Tour mit Florent war super, er ist auf persönliche Bedürfnisse und Interessen bspw. Fußball oder Musik eingegangen. Man hat sehr viel persönliches über Marseille und Veränderung der letzten Zeit erfahren. Beim nächsten Besuch würde ich gern eine weitere Tour mit ihm machen :)

This summer, I have attended over 50 walking tours. This was definitely one of the best three. Aside from Florent and me, there was only one other person on my tour. This made the tour very personal and informal. Florent says that he doesn’t like the tour to be too full. He walks you around a fairly small areas and shows you a small number of local shops and cafes and restaurants. He talks about the local culture and you taste a variety of foodstuffs. Florent grew up in Marseille but has lived elsewhere in the world. He is a very laidback character, with a good sense of humor. So, don’t be put off by the relative low guru score. I imagine this is caused by the fact that Florent has had to cancel some previous tours due to low sign-up numbers. This tour is a gem and deserves much bigger groups.

Florent showed us the best parts of Marseille, where people live, eat and enjoy themselves. Each neighborhood he took us to was full of energy. We saw shops that had been in business for over a hundred years. The bakery, spice, soap, and hardware stores were memorable. Its great to be shown an area where the guide grew up, so he knew everything!!!

It was a good experience and we saw areas of Marseille that I would never have found.
