First time you visit Amsterdam and want to know the most important attractions located in its central area? If your answer is yes, you have chosen the correct tour. Amsterdam is a fascinating city, known for its legendary canals and beautiful architecture, for its rich history and characters, as well as for being the most liberal and tolerant city in the world, and it is precisely this combination that makes it simply unique. We will meet a few meters from the Dam where we will start our tour, here the Royal Palace and the Obelisk are located. From here we will go to the Old Church, which in addition to being the oldest building in the city, is located in the center of the famous Red Light District, so I will take the opportunity to tell you about this popular neighborhood. Our route now heads towards the Puerta de San Antonio, a beautiful building that was part of the wall that surrounded the city. The next stop will be the old Jewish Quarter, here we will talk about the history of this community in Amsterdam and also about the events that occurred during the Nazi occupation. While we walk along the Amstel river (river that gives the city its name) we will arrive at the narrow bridge where we will talk about Amsterdam and its canals, and then continue to the area that was the richest in the city center. Before arriving at the beautiful Beguinage (cloister), the last stop on our tour, we will pass through the city archive and the well-known flower market. We will also talk about various topics related to local culture, bicycles, tolerance and liberalism, boat houses, and much more. See you soon! Note: A minimum number of participants is not required to run the group, so if there are two or even just one, the tour will be done.
We will meet outside the Amsterdam Tourism Information Office (VVV Tourist Office Amsterdam), it is located in front of the main door of the Central Station.
