Essential Free walking tours of London

Ethan was an informative and pleasant tour guide. He very kindly did the tour even though we were his only two guests. We learned a lot about the city and its history.

We were lucky enough to have Ethan nearly all to ourselves in an intimate tour group of 3. He was extremely knowledgeable, and great at conveying the information in an entertaining and succinct way. He has a strong background in English history and art (inextricably linked, makes sense), and a clear passion for it. He was very personable and engaging, and gave great recommendations for the rest of our trip! I love historic walking tours and would recommend Ethan to anyone who feels similarly.

Theodore was an excellent guide! Super informative and was hilarious. He had the authentic British humor, but also was very knowledgeable. Constantly offered to take pictures, gave pub/restaurant/tourist recommendations, and had jokes for everything. Good variety of monuments, and he even walked us to the correct bus stop after the tour!

Theo was probably the most knowledgeable tour guide I've had. The tour route was really good and along the way Theo was great at answering questions and providing great information. Along with the great info, he was very personable, friendly, and funny. Overall, a great tour.

Andrew was a fantastic guide! I learned so much on this tour— from notable individuals in British history to fun tid-bits about the city of London, this tour did not disappoint. Even after a long day of traveling, this tour energized us and gave us context for the rest of the trip. We saw all the hot spots and Andrew expertly navigated us away from the crowds. We also got to see some jaw-dropping magic tricks from Andrew which gave us so much joy :)

My wife and I have done probably over 20 free walking tours in a variety of cities and I've never left a review. Herbie changed that today. It was the most entertaining tour I've ever been on. It's not a standard tour where you walk and you listen to historical events and years and fun facts. Herbie managed to get all of that in but the delivery was so fun and engaging. He's extremely respectful and makes you smile for the entire length of the tour. He's passionate about his craft. Beware of the ghost and spies! They're amongst us. You'll know what this means if you take the tour with him, and get ready to witness the world's oldest magic trick. He's mastered it. Thank you Herbie.

Theo was easy to locate upon arrival. It was a small group and I was the only American but he made everyone feel welcomed, and spoke with each of us frequently. Super friendly, funny, very informative, and spoken clearly. He even went above and beyond offering to take photos and even giving useful tips for future plans. We hit all the top sights. Would highly recommend you tour with Theo!

We have been on free walking tours in many European countries, and this was the best. We had magic, history, attractions, humor, ghost stories, fascinating facts, photo opportunities—we had it all! Herbie’s pace was perfect, he managed to pull us all in with his teasing and attention to each person. We learned SO MUCH about London. It was our intention to taste London in a day and a half. With Herbie we feel like we had a full course meal!

Great tour! Ethan is very professional , studied history and worked as a tour guide in several public sites (like the Buckingham palace). Always happy to answer questions, is a tour loaded with historical facts, dates and names, so if you're, like us, into more professional tours instead of empty funny facts ones I believe this is a great choice!

Herbie was an engaging entertainer and a gifted storyteller, bringing energy and personality to the tour. However, the overall pace felt a bit too rushed for our liking. We weren’t given much time to fully take in the sights or pause for photos, which made the experience feel a little hurried. By the end of the two-hour walk, the tight schedule had left us quite exhausted. Slowing things down just a bit would have made the tour far more enjoyable and immersive.

This was such a well performed tour. Amazing facts and recommendations throughout the whole tour! I couldn’t have had a better experience!
