Rome in 1 day! The best of Rome and local cuisine
Tour description
Have a taste of the main sights and well-known landmarks of the Eternal City!
As a heavy traveler myself, I know that nowadays time is very little (especially while we’re on holidays…) so with this tour I desire to show you the most famous attractions and introduce you to the most gorgeous city on Earth just by occupying a quarter of your vacation-day.
Even if you have already been to Rome, I reserve plenty of recommendations and hidden gems to make your staying here memorable.
Born and raised in the Capital of the World, I will start sharing my knowledge and passion beginning from St. Peter’s Square: Bernini’s expansive plaza just in front of St. Peter’s Basilica located in the world’s smallest country… The Vatican City State.
As we head down towards the Tiber, the legendary river where everything started with Romulus and Remus, we’ll face the imposing Castel San’t Angelo, an impenetrable defensive bastion built during the barbaric invasion.
We will cross the river on the picturesque Ponte San’t Angelo with its 10 angels statues and as we penetrate deeper in the city’s hearth we’ll find ourselves into the most thriving ancient city market: Piazza Navona, a square offering scenic Baroque Roman architecture and showcasing the Fountain of the Four Rivers with an Egyptian obelisk right in the middle.
Just east of the square we encounter one of the best-preserved Ancient Roman building: the Pantheon.
A cylindrical-shaped Roman temple completed by the great emperor Hadrian.
We will connect to Via del Corso, Rome’s main shopping street. Obviously, shopping tips are included but I’m warning you beforehand, the shops are REALLY good so consider keeping an eye on your balance!
The road will end in the central city hub: Piazza Venezia with its stunning white-marble Altare della Patria, a grandiose monument dedicated to Vittorio Emanuele II, first king of Italy.
Strolling down the wide ancient roads we will end up in the famous Roman Forum, the center of day-to-day life in ancient Rome, venue for public speeches and nucleus of commercial affairs.
This definitely one of my favorite places in the city, it truly brings you past to the old costumes and lifestyle.
Last but definitely not least, the Colosseum will perform the grand finale.
Italy’s most famous landmark and symbol of Rome, the largest amphitheater ever built at the time.
With its sumptuous beauty and atmosphere, there’s nothing better than drinking a good glass of wine just in front of it.
Whilst on tour, I will definitely give out tips about where to eat based on your cravings and help you out with whatever doubt or problem Rome might throw at you… Because, yes it is a spectacular city indeed but also a chaotic and sometimes harsh, just like its gladiators.
That’s why I am also available to point you out in the right direction as one of Rome’s son myself.
