Hi there! Happy you decided to visit my profile, let me introduce myself: I'm a 20yrso Italian super into languages, and English has become such an important part of me as for my work and my private life, that it is now a part of my personality. Right now I'm working as a Cultural Mediator in Rome, providing assistance and help to people that unfortunately find themselves in a hospital during their vacation in the Eternal City (Rome, but it sounds way better). I was born and grown up in Viterbo, a city that I learned to love only when I got out of my "nest" and ventured to other countries and cities, that's when I learned that you never see beauty if you always have it under your sight, but after all you never worry about oxygen until the moment you are under water, right? And so I did, I saw the beauty in the true Italy, the one made of the so classical Italian social life, made of eating and chattering on random benches placed in the most beautiful places. I now live in Rome and i'm realizing how the "Italian life" is sold here, but don't get me wrong on that; This is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, but unfortunately, too touristic. The Italy that I know is made of people that gets out of home in the morning, go to the local bar and eats a cappuccino and cornetto, while exchanging every kind of talk with whoever is in there, because let's be honest, we all know each other. Then we get home, if you manage to avoid all the people trying to offer you a coffee, and we take the car and drive through the most beautiful sights in the world, or we just walk in the city center, where time seems like being stopped. My mission is to let you explore my life, as I got welcomed into the English culture and lifestyle, I now want to open my world to you, I want you to see the true Italy from my eyes and perspective, and i wanna do it by bringing you to the small cities, the ones where nobody really speaks English (Or maybe, they don't even speak Italian but just the local dialect) and by having you eat the real food, see the most beautiful places that are going to make you scream: "What?!? I don't have to pay a ticket for this??", live the real experience and don't get played around by fake italian restaurant, shops and people just trying to get money out of your pocket. So that's it, i don't have much to add, i just wish to see you and have a chat in these beautiful cities; Remember that I'm doing this also because i want to voucher my country, and let people understand what really Italy is about. I love metropolis or in general when a lot of people find themselves together and share their lifes even thought they have such different cultures, but if tourism is focussed mainly in these highly crowded cities, what's the point of visiting another country? I mean, you're in one of the most beautiful cities in the world anyways, i get it. But a city is a representation of a population's culture, and you can't get the full immersion if you don't live in the real social context too. Anyways I hope i haven't bored you, thanks if you have read this far. I hope to see you in one of my tours!.
About the tour
Thank you for being here, please give a read on my description so for you to get to know myself better, and what is my mission.
Viterbo is my native city I just love it, and i want you all to experience at least a day of your life in there; I want to walk you through the medieval streets that have brightened my best memories, i want to tell you about the machine of Santa Rosa, a tower 30 meters tall dedicated to our local saint, which 100 people bring every 3rd September on their shoulders around our city center. I want to show you the building that characterize our daily life, the food that is in our plates, and the people that we know since a lifetime.
I want to give you the true Italian full immersion, if you visit Rome or Milan you're just visiting an amazing city, but if you come to Viterbo you're visiting an amazing city, and an amazing pure Italian culture.
If i were to keep on describing my city i would never stop, so i just ask you to trust me and meet me in Piazza del Plebiscito, I'll be waiting for you in front of the court yard, where the big spiky gates are. I'll make sure to have you experience the most out of our time with the main focal points in my city, also I've worked in the touristic office and the fully decorated halls of our town hall (which i hope i can show you), so i will be able to give you various tips on our history and culture!
I'm looking forward on meeting you, and please give a read to my description, it will really help you understand what kind of person i am!
Thank for the trust,
(P.S all the picture are my mom's paintings, i feel like they surely transpire more the beauty of this city!)
