Tour description

We will discover the diverse sides of Rome: the artistic and the daily one, ancient and modern, high and low, well-known and secret. Using my art history knowledge, I will show you how Rome looked like during its grandeur periods: the ancient and the early modern (16th-17th century) and how they are still present in the living fabric of the city. We will start our tour at the most important of the seven hills of Rome, the Capitoline one, to see where Rome started and where it is still governed. Then we will continue our journey through the district of the ghetto, discovering the monuments but also the daily life of Rome, in the restaurants and in the markets. We will see the important sights, like Piazza Navona, Pantheon and the Trevi Fountain and I will present to you their history and explain their examples of the development of the city through centuries. We will finish our tour on the Quirinale Hill, where the president of the Republic residents now and where we can enjoy a beautiful view of the city. 1. The Capitoline Hill 2. The Marcellus Theatre 3. The Fontana delle Tartarughe (the Turtle Fountain) 4. Palazzo Farnese 5. Campo di Fiori 6. Piazza Navona 7. The Pantheon 8. The St. Ignacy of Loyola Church 9. The Trevi Fountain 10. The Quirinale Hill
