Tour description

Join us as we delve into the 700-year history of Kazimierz. From its roots as an independent royal city to its irrevocable link to Jewish life in Poland. On this 2.5 hour tour, we will visit the old synagogue in the heart of the Jewish quarter and discuss the Nazi occupation during WWII, as well as visit the old ghetto and the monument to the heroes of the ghetto. You will also learn about Kazimierz since the war, it is communist history and then you will see how this once forgotten part of Krakow is now brought to life with street art and street food at every turn. No trip to Krakow is complete without a visit to the Jewish Quarter.

Klaudia was great. It has been a really good your. I will recommend. She knew lots of stories, facts, legends, ...that made the tour incredibly good. We both enjoyed it.

I took the Free Walking Tour of Kazimierz and the Jewish Quarter and a cool, overcast afternoon in September with Magda. Magda was a knowledgeable tour guide who described the important leaders and historic events during the German occupation between 1939 to 1945. With Magda, we toured Kazimierz and the ghetto and got an appreciation of the tragic events that unfolded from 1939 to the end of the war. This may be a good tour to take prior to taking a tour of the nearby camps because it lays the historical foundation and allows for an appreciation of how the Jewish people of Krakow lived from 1100 to the time Nazi occupation.

My guide was Karolina. I was so impressed with her knowledge, professional approach and command of English that I also took part in the afternoon tour. Within a few hours I learnt a substantial part of the history of Krakow and thanks to Karolina it was a very pleasant experience. I recommend a tour of Krakow to everyone; I think it contributes to the creation of a special relationship with this beautiful city.

The tour was very good, we really enjoyed it. Unfortunately the weather was rainy and cold, but despite it, it was great!
