Hi everybody :) I am Tomas, originally from Lithuania, and now living in Berlin for two years. My experience as a tour guide consists of working as one in Lithuania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Egypt, and Germany. I love being surrounded by people and telling all sorts of stories. My favorite historical topic is World War 2 and all the events that led the world into it. I have a university education in tourism and tour guiding has been my favorite activity ever since I graduated. Besides basketball, my hobbies include learning foreign languages (I can speak more than a few), hanging out with positive people, and reading different kinds of books. During the walking tour, I would really like to create a friendly atmosphere and make the tour a chilling walk between friends.
During this afternoon walk, we will go back 100 years into the beginnings of Nazi Germany and will explore the most important aspects of it. Our tour begins at the end of World War 1 in devastated Germany, which just lost it all and finds itself in ruins. You will hear the life story of the most popular Nazi- Adolf Hitler and will find out how he became so powerful and influential. You will hear stories about events that led Germany and the whole Europe into World War 2. Also, we will talk about other notorious Nazi leaders and their role in the Third Reich. One of the saddest topics that we will have on the tour will be the Holocaust and massive murders of other minorities that did not match the Nazi philosophy. We will talk about the most important events of World War 2 and the significance of this massive War in the history of the world. Our tour will end exactly where the Third Reich collapsed- the Führerbunker, where we will talk about the end of the war and the end of the Nazi regime in Germany.
I will be waiting for you in front of the exit from the Ubahn Station "Bundestag" with "Guru" sign in hand.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
