I'm originally from London, but like many people in their early twenties, my sense of adventure got the better of me and I spent many years travelling the globe. I eventually wound up in Rome - a city that’s frozen in time and impossible not to fall in love with. I’ve worked as a professional licensed guide in Europe for over 15 years now - meaning I’m not only an expert in Roman history, but also that of many other cultures across the continent. For me, meeting people from all over the world is one of life’s greatest pleasures. I can guarantee to keep learning and history fun - so join me on a tour and let me share this amazing city with you.
Rome is undoubtedly one of the most picturesque cities in the world to explore. Join me on an enchanting stroll through the city centre as we visit some of the major sights that you really shouldn’t miss, plus some of my off-the-beaten-track spots. My route is carefully curated and I make sure to take characteristic little back alleys that few venture down. We meet at the base of Trajan’s Column, next to the Venice Square (Piazza Venezia), in the real heart of the Eternal city. After getting to know each other, I will begin to explain the ancient Imperial Forum, the unification of Italy and the rebirth of Rome during the Renaissance. The Trevi Fountain attracts millions of visitors every year and with me you will find out why! Admire its beauty as I give you the full story behind the fountain and we get to the bottom of the coin-throwing tradition. The next stop will be in Piazza della Rotunda, the location of the world-famous Pantheon. Experience this most important of Rome’s pagan temples and discover its dynamic uses over 2000 years! We save the best till last: Piazza Navona, which is by far the most elaborate of Rome’s squares. Absorb the ambiance as we get into the rivalry between the artists whose works have defined the beauty of this square. We finish near some of the best bars and eateries in Rome! On Sunday's we don't go inside the Pantheon, it is closed!

Our family had a walking tour with Paolo and it turned to be a wonderful experience. Paolo greeted the kids with a nice small souvenir and and started a conversation with them. He has a true gift towards kids. He also explained very well all the nice places in Rome and had very nice tips both for kids and adults. He also checked some things for us after the tour for our own sightseeing. I definitely recommend Paulo for this tour!!!
The tour guide cancelled the tour 45 minutes before the tour. Totally irresponsible for such late notice as the guide claimed that new restrictions was the reason for cancellation...which would be understandable except these restrictions had been in place all week and I booked the day before. I was already on my way, paid for the train, and had left another attraction for the tour that I would have gladly stayed longer at, had the cancellation been made any earlier. No excuse for such last minute communications, won't be booking Guruwalk again, though previous experiences have been fine.
