∎ Welcome! My name is Ignacio, Landscape Architect and Official Tourist Guide of Amsterdam, my city for 12 years, and where I have walked hundreds of travelers for several years. ∎ Landscape architect by profession, where the studies of history, design, botany and art are part of my professional training, which together with my experience teaching, creating and conducting tours summarize my resume. ∎ I also impart cultural instruction on Amsterdam, to the Spanish-speaking crew (officers and sailors) of German ships in professional exchange with the Netherlands. . ∎ Amsterdam, has always exercised fascination, beautiful, unique and incomparable and where in this beautiful job of "guiding", I have the key to open the doors of the city for you and walk together, that is why my tour can be considered as a "Very entertaining lesson on Dutch history, art, architecture, commerce and society".

About the Tour

Guiding for years , allowed me to create the formula to give a complete and entertaining view of Amsterdam in a few hours. The tour is mainly based on: Dutch history, art, commerce, architecture, nature and society, from the 13th century to the 21st century.

My tour is an explosion of energy, vitality, and enjoyment. We will enter the heart of Amsterdam visiting all the cardinal points. We begin with a review of Amsterdam and immediately begin to sightsee and tune what we see with the descriptive story that I will do, to leave it reflected in your life.

We will live Amsterdam and its history, in a didactic way as if we were the protagonists of a fantastic movie, which they will always remember. Of course, at some stop we can eat a Dutch delicacy, if we feel like it.

PLACES WE WILL VISIT AND EXPLAIN:

History of the city

Royal Palace of Amsterdam.

Homes - boats or floating homes.

Courts , place of beheadings and hangings

Royal Family : place of the weddings, coronations and abdications of the Dutch sovereigns.

Orphanage or House for orphans, from 1581. .

Former Amsterdam Central Post Office , 19th century.

National Monument - Het Nationaal Monument.

Second World War : Holocaust, Anne Frank , Jews in Amsterdam: deportations, hiding places, winter of hunger and all the horror of the Nazi occupation.

Slavery , Colonialism , their traces after so many centuries in the city . We will be surprised by this period of wealth and tragedy.

Jewish Quarter
Waterlooplein : famous flea market, since the 19th century.

• XV century New Church – De nieuwe Kerk.

Small, amazing houses of Amsterdam.

Former Catholic convents and chapels, XV century.

Dutch Golden Age , 17th century. Architecture, mansions of the rich bourgeois with facades, unique in the world, trade in exotic products and slaves.

Begijnhof Convent - XV century.
Gasthuis (hospital and hospice for the elderly) year 1605.

Nieuwmark t (New Market) year 1614.

ART - Rembrandt's house, baroque painter and his world. Impossible to forget it. His work, his environment and his life are present in our tour in Amsterdam.

South Church - Zuiderkerk (1614)

VOC Dutch Merchant Marine building - 17th century
• Exceptional wooden house from 1420 in the heart of the city.

• • MISCELLANEOUS
Unique architecture in the world, UNESCO heritage canals, bridges, fossils, alleys, panoramic views, wonderful to enjoy and photograph, all combined with the daily life of the Amsterdammers that will surprise us, bicycles, nature, prostitution, boats, celebrations, and endless spontaneous and surprising "Dutch" events of daily life that will appear to us in the dynamics of the tour.
The tour ends at Dam Square, the same starting point. For reasons of force majeure , a place may sometimes be closed .
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
The Municipality decreed the recreation tax (Vermakelijkhedenretributie) with a rate of €1.50 per tourist who participates in any event related to the item. This tax must be paid before starting the tour and is not related to the value of the event itself. SUGGESTION : comfortable shoes and clothing, water, cereal bar, chocolate or banana for energy, sunscreen, and umbrella or raincoat, if the weather warrants it. Very good mood and disposition and I take care of the rest. I advise you not to hire or sign up for another activity for at least one hour after the end of the tour with me, to replenish your energy and to have time to get to the other activity in a relaxed way and without running into schedules

I'll wait for you, Ignatius.
