Tour description
Discover the city of Madrid with all the details regarding history, geography, culture, culinary traditions and all social activities, with the best quality of information and great knowledge explained in native American English.
The tour will start at Puerta del Sol, the heart of this wonderful city. We will walk along the Arenal street to the Opera house and, reaching the Plaza de Oriente, we will have a breathtaking viewpoint to admire both the largest royal palace in Western Europe and the Almudena Cathedral. Further on you will find the remains of the ancient Muslim wall that once surrounded the Alcázar, built by the people who actually founded "Mayrit" (the place of abundant water). The next stop is a wonderful piece of architecture that is the Segovia Bridge, followed by the school where the world-famous Spanish writer Miguel de Cervantes graduated.
Afterwards we will reach the green cross square and further on we will reach the street "el rollo" that will lead us to the square La Villa (the original square of the city). At this specific point we will discover important historical buildings and receive very interesting information. Then the "Main Street" awaits us to learn even more about the history of the capital of what was once the largest empire on earth.
The street of the "knives" Cuchilleros is next to enjoy some Spanish cuisine (considered by many to be the best in the world). The last part of the tour will take you to the main square, one of the most iconic and touristic places in the city, to give you the best possible closure.
