Hi! I'm Costanza, an Italian archaeologist, living in Berlin since 2006 for PhD studies in Near Eastern Archaeology at the Freie Universität Berlin. Thanks to my background I love history and museums, and also Berlin: all these combined bring passion to conceiving my tours, both of the city and of the museums. I am looking forward to meeting you! :)
Hi everyone and welcome to this tour that will show the different sides of amazing Berlin!
In our walk, we will travel through the history of the city, and also through recent times.
The tour will start from the glorious past of Berlin and Prussia, showing Unter den Linden from Brandenburg Gate.
A jump in more recent history is foreseen at the Reichstag building, where modern Germany had its tragic events happening. These will be followed through the visit to the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe and the linked Hitler's Bunker and the Topographie of Terror.
Here we will meet the more recent history of Berlin and Germany we will see a still-standing part of the Wall and we will go to Checkpoint Charlie, just to get an impression of how life in a divided city was.
Our conclusion will be in the Neoclassic Berlin, admiring the splendid Gendarmenmarkt.
I will be in front of Starbucks Cafe and will hold a sign "Guru Walk"
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
