Tour description

If you're looking to learn about Zagreb's history and development, I'd be happy to take you on a tour of Kaptol and Gradec. These two medieval towns were the birthplace of today's Zagreb, and I'll share stories about how people used to live and what life is like now. You'll also discover hidden gems and must-see places that will make your tour exciting.

As we explore the city's landmarks, you'll gain a deeper understanding of its history and culture. The tour will showcase the town's most famous attractions, fascinating historical facts, intriguing legends, and curiosities, and I'll also suggest things to do and places to go. There's so much to see and discover in Zagreb, and I'm here to make sure your experience is unforgettable.

On our route we will visit:

  • Ban Jelačić Square (The Main Square) - tour start
  • The Cathedral
  • Dolac open Market
  • Opatovina
  • Tkalčićeva Street
  • Bloody Bridge
  • The Stone Gate
  • St. Marks Church
  • Lotrščak Tower*
  • Grič Tunnel ( WWII Tunnel )**
  • Ban Jelačić square - tour end

* The morning tour at 10.00 includes the midday cannon strike.
** Occasionally WW2 underground tunnels might not be included in the tour during public events in the tunnel.

Let's explore Zagreb's history, while enjoying the present!

We were sceptical about the 2.5 hr long walk, but we ended up spending almost 3 fun hours with Mirjana and her captivating stories! 😊 I’ve been to a number of free walking tours in various cities across Europe and she is one of the most prepared guides I’ve been with ❤️ She’s fun, knowledgeable and answers all your questions with utmost patience! Plus, she ends the tour on a sweet note, like literally, with a taste of the local candy! (Sorry for the spoiler but it was really sweet!)
