Hi I'm Uvejs. I am 24 years old and currently study Food Innovation and Product Design. During summer vacations, I am in my hometown Shkodër, Albania where I was born and have lived in for most of my life. Some years ago I caught "the travel bug" and I have been trying to explore as much as possible. After taking part in similar walking tours in major European hotspots like Prague and Budapest, I thought why not be a guide tour in my amazing city which certainly has a lot to offer for its visitors. I am a beginner guide but equipped with a lot of enthusiasm and willingness to share my love for Shkodër. Feel free to contact me for any questions you have. I would love to help you out.
Shkodra Free Walking Tours is the first of its kind in the major city located in Albania's north. It will show you some of the top attractions in this old historical city. I will explain the city's history, which dates back to the 4th century BC, and take you through its most famous landmarks. You can't miss this tour if you want to get a feeling of Shkodër on your first visit.
The tour will start at the "heart" of the city, in the promenade, Kole Idromeno paved with cobblestones. We will pass by the Marubi National Museum of Photography. As we stroll along the promenade, we take in the incredible view of a mosque and a church very close to each other. The rest of the attractions to visit include:
The tour ends at the park in front of the Orthodox Church.
You will also receive recommendations about where to eat and drink in the city, best currency exchange places and day trips suggestions from Shkodër. In the end of this walking tour, you will understand this city more and want to visit it again after you leave.
I will be in front of Bar Restaurant San Francisco carrying a black umbrella.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
