Hello! Welcome to Lamego. On this tour, I will show you the most important religious buildings in town. The tour takes place on foot with a duration of 2h30. The meeting place is under the big tree at the corner of the cathedral. The tour can be done in english or portuguese in either the morning or the afternoon schedule.
After the restoration, the inside of the cathedral is vibrating with its original Baroque colors. I will show you the meaning of the monsters and creatures on the 16th century doorway arch and then a look inside at the altars and the painted ceiling from the 18th century.
The midway point of the tour is to take a rest and appreciate this small chapel.
We will go up the stairway and appreciate the sculptures, caves, fountains, and last but not least the forest. The tour will end with a visit inside the church.
