Did you know that in the City of London, you are never more than 500m from a place where people were publicly executed?

Some were hanged: some had their heads cut off: and some were chopped into pieces while still alive!

This walk visits many of these places and tells the stories: many of them gruesome (so be warned!). It also explores how public execution was used by the government to convey messages to the people.

Starts at the Tower of London and ends at Smithfield.
