Free walking tours in Bukhara

Alex was our guide for the day. It was a very nice tour he organised, stopping to the main historic buildings in Bukhara. Even though it was scorching hot he kept slow pace for everyone to manage. He is very knowledgeable, speaks good English and also recommended museums to visit and restaurants. The tour made the town more enjoyable to walk through on our own knowing the history behind each of the beautiful monuments. Highly recommend.

We had a great time on our tour with Laziz around Bukhara. Laziz has a wealth of knowledge on the history of Bukhara and the sights we visited. He was friendly and cheerful and we enjoyed the tour. He was really easy to talk to and happy to answer all the questions we had about historical Bukhara and current life in Bukhara. He also gave lots of recommendations for what to do after the tour.

Maks is a wonderful guide. She is very knowledgeable about histroy and the tour is the most informative I have ever taken. We visited a lot of sites of interests and I started to get a picture of Bukhara. If it's your first time to be there, I strongly recommend the tour!

Fayz was a wonderful guide who took us on an informative and interesting tour of old Bukhara. He interspersed tales of old with information about modern life, which was very interesting and emphasised how the past lives on in the present day. He was also very considerate and ensured that we went from shady spot to shady spot as much as possible, as it was a very hot day. We saw and learned a lot but the tour never felt rushed. I would highly recommend doing this tour!

Fantastic walking tour. Alex is a great guide. Quiet, respectful, not too jokey, but with a great sense of humour. He knows his subject, but does not bombard you with information. He keeps it low key, easy to understand, and insightful. This is one of the few tours, especially 3 hour long tours, where the guide kept me (us) attentive and listening for the full 3 hours. We also covered the full length of Old Bukhara, both in terms of distance and time. I HIGHLY recommend this tour.

Very informative and fun tour. We got to see all the major sites and some off the beaten path ones too. I loved the stops at the market!

I took this this tour as I always find I leave a historical site with a much better understanding and appreciation of it if I have a guide who knows the site. I really enjoyed this tour and it was a great way to explore the Ark fortress and get a good underunderstanding of the history of the citadel. Alex was professional, knowledgeable and engaging. Also got to see the best views of Bukhara. Would recommend.

Was great to meet a local and get intro to the main site. The guide even told us about the dating in Uzbekistan which was very interesting and different from our western way. Was very open to share with us his personal uzbeki living

Excellent tour

I learned a lot from Fayz, he spoke slowly, clearly and his English was good. He made sure we understood, using different words to be sure we got it. The pace didn’t feel rushed and made space for questions. He is good at storytelling and I was engaged the whole time. It makes a big difference that he brought visuals to accompany the explanations, it’s creative other guides didn’t seem to have this, I had a wonderful time, thank you
