Free walking tours in Bukhara

What a fab tour of Bukhara! I booked first trip to Uzbekistan, and couldn’t recommend this tour more. Fayz was a charismatic and considerate guide; he came very prepared, even with infographics to help illustrate the history of the city, past and present. I enjoyed visiting all the key ‘tourist’ spots which were really interesting and photogenic, whilst also showing us a deeper dive into local culture that we never would have found on our own. Even though it was really hot weather, he made sure we were in the shade most of the time, with opportunities to sit down, and also some aircon rooms! Thank you, Fayz!!

Maks is an excellent tour guide and we can recommend her tour. We learned so much and we went into places that we would not have seen if it had not been for her. The tour is about 3.5 hours so wear comfortable shoes and bring water if it is hot (you could buy water along the way.) This was just a really good tour!

We really enjoyed this walking tour of Bukhara and came away with a much better sense of the city. I thought the route was very well planned and I appreciated that Laziz moved the time forward to escape the heat. Laziz was friendly and a great guide - definitely recommend this walking tour!

Makhbuba is a professional guide in Bukhara. The tour has been very entertaining and very useful to know a bit more about this wonderful city. I would only recommend to reduce the number of stops at the shops and the time there.

Very informative yet succinct tour, great for anyone who wants to know the history of Bukhara in a fun manner. Was genuinely surprised at some facts that were shared and loved the steady pace it was run. Although the weather was hot, the sights were captivating and experience fun enough to keep us going for almost 3 hours. Recommend tour and awesome guide!

The tour was very interesting and entertaining. We particularly liked the old photographs he brought along for comparison and as visual aids. We would recommend the tour to anyone.

Genuinely one of the best free walking tours I've ever been on, and I've done a lot! Maks was so knowledgeable about Buxoro and gave so much information I would not have gotten by walking around myself. She described everything in great detail, but kept the tour flowing and moving well. There wasn't a moment of boredom. She also took us places I would not have ever approached myself, like the bath houses. I also expected more stops with entrance fees, but the only stop with an entrance fee was 15,000 sum. I could go on and on, but just know that if you're thinking about booking, do it!!

Alex was our guide for the day. It was a very nice tour he organised, stopping to the main historic buildings in Bukhara. Even though it was scorching hot he kept slow pace for everyone to manage. He is very knowledgeable, speaks good English and also recommended museums to visit and restaurants. The tour made the town more enjoyable to walk through on our own knowing the history behind each of the beautiful monuments. Highly recommend.

We had a great time on our tour with Laziz around Bukhara. Laziz has a wealth of knowledge on the history of Bukhara and the sights we visited. He was friendly and cheerful and we enjoyed the tour. He was really easy to talk to and happy to answer all the questions we had about historical Bukhara and current life in Bukhara. He also gave lots of recommendations for what to do after the tour.

Maks is a wonderful guide. She is very knowledgeable about histroy and the tour is the most informative I have ever taken. We visited a lot of sites of interests and I started to get a picture of Bukhara. If it's your first time to be there, I strongly recommend the tour!

Laziz was a great guide and was bought up in Bukhara, he is very passionate and proud of the city, and explained the history and relevance of all the beautiful sites. He was very entertaining and extremely knowledgeable and we thoroughly enjoyed our tour with him, and would highly recommend ☺️

Fayz was a wonderful guide who took us on an informative and interesting tour of old Bukhara. He interspersed tales of old with information about modern life, which was very interesting and emphasised how the past lives on in the present day. He was also very considerate and ensured that we went from shady spot to shady spot as much as possible, as it was a very hot day. We saw and learned a lot but the tour never felt rushed. I would highly recommend doing this tour!

I found this GuruWalk walking tour with Gayrat incredibly interesting, informative and worthwhile. Bukhara is definitely one of my favourite Silk Road stops with a remarkable intact old town. Gayrat’s English is superb and I can certainly recommend him.
