Free 2h walking tour - hidden architectural treasures of Munich
As an architect living in Munich, I am happy to show you the hidden architectural treasures of my city. I've been on quite a few trips myself, including Chile, Japan, Australia, South Africa, Europe and the USA. In contact with local people, I have always come closest to the country. In my free time I like to climb and boulder. Born in Germany, I have Spanish roots and ancestors from Estonia - an international mix :) I speak fluent German, English and Spanish and also some French.
Tour description
We will discover hidden and unconventional places in Munich within a two-hour city walk.
We experience how the new Volkstheater connects past and present in the slaughterhouse district and immerse ourselves in the lively and colorful world of the signalman Thiels. This dynamic event and cultural space is made up of 40 shipping containers decorated with graffiti.
On our tour there is always the opportunity to take a drink or ice cream 'to go'.
In addition, we will follow the fascinating transformation of a discarded pleasure boat into one of Munich's cultural highlights - the Alte Utting. It's not just the sunset and the newspaper article in the New York Times that impress here, but above all the story of how it came about.
The tour ends in 'Gans Woanders', one of the most unusual beer gardens in Munich, whose pizza and rosemary fries I can highly recommend.
Choose from the following languages: German, English or Spanish.
You can pay your freely chosen amount in cash or via Paypal at the end of the tour on site :)
