Hello! My name is José and I am an environmentalologist and environmental educator by training. My passion for nature has led me to visit some of the most surprising places in Madrid's geography. This new project arises from the need to publicize the natural and cultural heritage of our parks and gardens, sadly unknown to many. Several years guiding groups guarantee my experience as a guide.

Tour description
Despite its historical and cultural interest, Retiro Park presents a special botanical interest. In its 125 hectares , this urban park has more than 19,000 trees of 163 different species . Among these species, we find some that, due to their rarity, size, age, size or historical, cultural or scientific significance, constitute a heritage deserving of special protection by the Administration. They are called singular trees. Currently there are 283 trees protected under this protection figure, of which 8 are in Retiro. Throughout our tour we will learn about each of these species and their historical and cultural relationship with the park.
