Hi everyone, My name is Yassine Barkhoukh, I am a student of the English department at the University of arts, FLSH in Casablanca Morocco, I am passionate about learning languages, and I'm also interested in culture, I am currently learning Japanese. My aim is to become a polyglot and travel the world --on foot. My favorite quotes: - "Do It Because You Can". Pink Guy - "I don't care if you're black, white, straight, bisexual, gay, lesbian, short, tall, fat, skinny, rich or poor. If you're nice to me, I'll be nice to you. Simple as that!" Eminem I love to learn, I'm open to any ideas considering learning, lifestyle, health, self-development ...

About the tour

The tour's meeting point is usually in downtown area, and we start by entering:

- The old Medina: where you get to see the Souks (markets), historical monuments, touristy places, and learn about some of the culture along the way to:

- Hassan II Mosque: where you get to see the tallest mosque Minaret in the world, hang around the mosque, and if you like it, you can book a tour to go inside the mosque (the building in the right hand side), the first tour being at 9:00 AM and the last at 3:00 PM.

And after that, head downtown, through the part of the old Medina outside the walls of the ancient city, to get a bus/tram/taxi to shorten the long distance between:

- Downtown area, and:

- Habous: or (new medina) where we get to see the "artificial Medina" built during the French colonisation, separating Locals from French residents at the time. We can also stop to buy souvenirs, or to take pictures at the royal palace, olive market, carpet market and anywhere alongside, before or after we're done at the red taxi stand.

Extra walking, for people whom are still willing to walk for longer distances, to the closet tram station (15mins) or downtown (35mins), to visit along the way:

- Parc Murdoch.

- Catholic cathedral Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes.

- Ride the tram.

- Marche Central.

And any other place you wish to visit in the city, in case it's the last tour that day.

I will provide translation (Arabic, Berber, French, Moroccan dialect to English)

I also recommend you check The Sweet WANDERLUST's blog for more information and tips about traveling in Morocco.

What's the price?

A guruwalk is a pay-what-you want walking tour, which means, it's completely free to book and join the group, but the 'guru' expects to be rewarded once the tour ends. Some people give 5, some people give 50, you choose the price.

Reservations in advance are mandatory because if the 'guru' doesn't see any bookings one day, she will not show up at the meeting point. Or if she has too many 'walkers' that day, won't allow you to join without the reservation. Booking is completely free, fast and easy. Book your guruwalk now!

Casablanca was one of the port stops on our cruise. We booked a tour with Yassine in advance and he communicated several times with us before we got to Casablanca. We met him at UN Square in the center of Casablanca and he took us on a 5 hour tour of the city. His English is excellent and he is a very friendly and patient person. He knows a lot about the history of Casablanca as well as Morocco. We HIGHLY recommend Yassine as a tour guide! Thank you Yassine for a fantastic day!

Amazing experience! After years of tours across the globe, I can confidently recommend this as one of the best. Yassine is incredibly knowledgeable and the most friendly guide - you can ask him truly anything. He'll customize the tour to make sure you see everything you'd like, surprise you with local city gems you'd never know existed otherwise, and happily share extensive recommendations afterward. Our time spent with Yassine is truly what made our trip to Casablanca unforgettable and we can't thank him enough. Don't travel to Casablanca without his epic tour!

This was a great tour. Yassin, our guide not only took us around the main tourist sites and Medina but also the local souk and the tram way. We also seeked out secret hideaways in the small, convoluted street. Yassin speaks perfect English and very knowledgeable about the area and if he does not know he is quick to find out. Would recommend this tour to all. Indeed have already recommended to many of my front and family

Very nice, gentle man, who is able to answer questions about the history of his culture while being grounded in the present. I had a very nice informative and human experience despite the mishaps with the tramway!

He is there to offer you choices (food, drinks, buying a!) and help you with dealing and purchase the right thing.

Great conversations, I really recommend this tour on your first day in Casablanca !
