I dress how I want!? Free guided tour of the Costume Museum
Tour description
Hello everyone, I'm Diana, art historian and tour guide.
I've been here at Guruwalk for a while doing an urban art tour of the Lavapies area and now I'm opening new artistic horizons.
Why launch a tour about Spanish clothing throughout the centuries? Is fashion art? Or, is it just something that covers us so we don't walk naked down the street?
As customs and society change, so do fashion and styles.
The Costume Museum's collection is focused on both men and women, although it is women where the change towards a new freedom in clothing will be most noticeable. Out with corsets and breast cardboard!
Welcome to charlestone and airy dresses! Ayyyy and those nights in the cafes…. And the wool swimsuits from the 20s!
What is different about this tour? That works for both Winter and Summer, that we will see the clothing from a totally different perspective than how we currently wear it, and above all... we will surely have a laugh!
What will we see?
