1 Calle de las Huertas - The heart of the neighborhood. This pedestrian street is lined with engraved quotes from Spain’s literary greats like Cervantes, Lope de Vega, and Quevedo.


2 Calle de Cervantes - Named after Miguel de Cervantes, who lived here. It’s a quieter street full of literary history.


3 Calle del León - Another historic literary artery, known for its beautiful 17th-century architecture. Stylish and cultural, lined with independent shops and galleries.


4 Calle del Prado - Home to the Ateneo de Madrid and close to the CaixaForum and other cultural spots.


5 Calle de Lope de Vega -Named after the famous playwright who also lived here. The Convento de las Trinitarias, where Cervantes is buried.


6 Calle del Príncipe - Home to the Teatro Español, one of Madrid’s oldest and most iconic theaters (since 1583).


7 Calle de San Sebastián - Leads to the Iglesia de San Sebastián, tied to many literary figures for baptisms, marriages, or funerals.


8 Calle del Gobernador - Direct access to CaixaForum Madrid and the vertical garden, on the eastern edge of the neighborhood.


9 Calle de Echegaray - Known for old taverns, flamenco spots, and literary references, once frequented by Hemingway.


10 Carrera de San Jerónimo (border street) - Connected to Plazuela de las Cortes and the Spanish Congress (Congreso de los Diputados).  Monument to Cervantes

We are meeting at the The Sweeper statue in Plaza de Jacinto Benavente. I will be wearing white hat and a mini backpack with a purple scarf tied around it.
