All major sights in the city center are included in the tour: Augustusplatz with the Gewandhaus, Opera House, University, and City-Hochhaus.
The New Town Hall with Burgplatz is also part of the tour, as well as St. Thomas Church and St. Nicholas Church, the former Stasi headquarters, and Matthäikirchhof, considered the birthplace of the city. We will explore the pedestrian zone, the passage system, and get to know famous buildings. The Market Square with the Old Town Hall and the Old Stock Exchange is also on the program. The well-known Barfußgässchen, famous for its gastronomy, along with the city’s oldest coffee house and Auerbachs Keller, are also included.
If there is interest, we can take a short walk to the fascinating Kolonnadenviertel.
History, architecture, and current topics of Leipzig will be covered. The focus is on music, and at suitable points, songs will be played.
