About the tour

Poland used to be one of most tolerant countries in Europe during the Middle-Ages and boasted one of the largest and most blossoming Jewish community in the world. The Kazimierz district retains the heart of Poland’s Jewish culture where two different religions, Christians as well, coexisted peacefully for over half a millennium. The terrors of World War II struck the district and its residents experienced one of the most tragic events in history and so touching that it has been an inspiration for many films ever since, including Schindler’s List. Visit places where the greatest people among the Jewish community were born, discover the unique atmosphere of the cultural centre in Krakow, see stunning examples of Jewish architecture, and finally visit places of great tragedy.

There is a lot to see and hear from the Jewish quarter in Krakow, both nowadays and in the past.
