Essential Free walking tours of Budapest

Myself and my partner have been travelling all over Europe over the last two months. We have attended a free walking tour nearly every Saturday so far in each city we have been to. Robert, our guide, was by far the best we've had and can highly recommend taking a walk through Budapest with Robert!

The extensive knowledge that Robert shared with us was not only very interesting but also highly entertaining. Along with telling us information about the landmarks we were seeing, Robert kept the tour very personalised and interactive and we enjoyed the extra stories that he told alongside the facts of the landmarks. It was paced very well and I felt we covered more than I had expected, would highly recommend this tour

Robert was the perfect guide. His recount of Hungarian history was informative, light and interesting. We didn't feel rushed at all, and felt quite comfortable to ask any questions. What made the tour with Robert even more special is his absolute pride of his city. After the tour he happened to be getting off at the same stop as us and helped us choose some authentic Hungarian foods at the Great Market Hall. We did the tour on our first day and it was a great foundation for the rest of our trip, thank you Robert! We left with great memories. So much more personal than a big tour group.

Lara was an amazing guide. She was fun and energetic, and gave us detailed history while taking us to all the landmarks to see on the Pest side of Budapest. She was very approachable and open to answering all our questions. She also gave us a QR code with recommendations for things to do in Budapest, including restaurants. Robert was fantastic! I’ve done walking tours all over the world, and this is one of the best I’ve been. There was a great amount of information on all parts - history, politics, sites, and more. The perfect introduction to Budapest and Hungary, and a great thing to do on your first day!

My only regret is that we didn't do Robert's Guru tour on our first day because it gave me such a better appreciation for the history of Budapest and made me regret that we weren't staying longer to visit all of the fantastic places the city has to offer. I know you tell all the groups that we're the best, but I don't always leave five star reviews!
