Chiang Mai Food Tour

Pom was great! We tried a bunch of dishes, most were specific to northern Thailand (no Pad Thai, papaya salad, or basil pork). We started with the food stalls (tried Chiang Mai sausage, Khao Moo, sukiyaki, a few Thai desserts, duck with rice). We would have also had Khao Soi, but we were too full and needed a break:). We then walked to a huge wholesale market where Pom gave tons of info and answered all our questions. Then headed to the last market in Chinatown where we had fermented noodles. The tour was long- lasted almost 4.5 hours - but it was great!

Tour was better than expected, the guide spoke perfect English and was very knowledgeable

Generally, I have found the Tour leaders with Guru Walk to be very well educated, articulate and really give of their time. This one was no exception. We had a fabulous tour of local markets, tasted an amazing variety of food and were shown some of the unique features of other markets. And added feature was a fascinating tour of some local food markets that were wholesale distributing centers and places where restaurants by their food. This was the highlight for me. The Tour leader went above and beyond the three hours I expected. It was a real quality experience and one of the highlights of my time here in Chiang Mai!

John was locally knowledgeable and very kind to any request. Worth doing seeing local places!

I had a free walking tour today and it was absolutely wonderful. Our guide was very well organized and incredibly knowledgeable, sharing lots of interesting background information along the way. He even went the extra mile by getting a number in advance for a popular food spot, saving us a long wait. Everything was smooth, engaging, and thoughtfully planned. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting.

The best tour guide ever, the food we tasted and ate was delicious and cheap, thanks to the guide. After more than 3 hours wandering around we ended at the 24-hours market, which I didn't knew about. THANKS!

JT gave a great and tasty tour. He's super knowledgeable about the food itself but also Thailand in general, etc. We were introduced to some new dishes we weren't familiar with and had an overall good time.

Jakkrit is a great tour guide and is very friendly and funny. Come with an empty belly and an open mind. There is a good variety and it's good if you have just arrived in Chiang Mai/ Northern Thailand as you can get a feel for local food. Jakkrit answers any questions you have and has lots of useful info! (If you are going to take this tour, please be prepared to try food that is not typical western food as its not fun for the others if you just skip everything and nobody gets to try any food.)

Jakkrit has a phenomenal tour, he even makes reservations in the most popular spots that you normally can't get into. This is by far the best food tour I´ve ever done. But be careful, you will want to eat and buy everything he shows, so come hungry.

The food options were fantastic and the guru's recommendations were great, although admittedly this was not a super engaging tour.. It was however informative and enjoyable

Excellent foodie tour that started with eating our way through a night market and continued with looking at incredible wholesale and retail produce markets. Everything we ate was wonderful, tasty, and filling. Best mango sticky rice ever! Our guide John was easy going, flexible, professional, and very personable. He's a great Chiang Mai ambassador. I highly recommend this tour.

Everything was just right. The food, the information, the walk. Lovely guide who was very attentive and did everything to make us feel comfortable. English is good and great to have a conversation with. He loves to read and his job. We had a great time!
