I was born in Budapest. Besides being a tour guide, I am a writer, journalist, playwright, and screenwriter. For me, stories represent the world and thus human understanding within it. That's why I am in love with Budapest, where the infinitely diverse facades, the musty walls of the historic castle district, and the spaces of modern communal areas tell mysterious and adventurous stories, just like the cobblestones beneath our feet, the facades above our heads, or the hidden pubs with their regular patrons. Robert is obviously enthusiastic about the City. He tends to talk very fast and can get lost in the weeds of some topics. We could only understand about 60% of what he was talking about.
Do yourself a favour and absolutely absolutely book this tour by Robert!!! One of the best guided tours I’ve ever been on full of great stories, both personal and historical. He also goes above and beyond to care for his tour group (it was a hot day and he was carrying sunscreen and an extra litre of water for us, even offered to carry some of our snacks in his bag pack for us). He provides a greatly detailed and personalised recommendations list at the end (which is why I would recommend booking this tour on the first day of your Budapest trip:))
