Hello everyone! I'm Maite, from the Canary Islands, and I work as a certified tour guide. I'm passionate about travel, languages, gastronomy, history and the natural environment, hiking, and discovering and sharing meaningful experiences. I'm in love with my Canary Islands, especially Gran Canaria, the land where I was born and where I live, and also with Lille, a city in northern France, near the Belgian border, which I visited one hot summer day and where, out of love, I spend part of the year. I'd be delighted if you'd like to explore them with me. Although it might not seem like it, both places have a lot in common: the warmth and joy of their people, iconic landmarks to discover and explore, and a history, heritage, gastronomy, and natural environment that are well worth experiencing. They are also culturally rich and vibrant, with historic centers and streets that are a pleasure to walk along, and towns and cities to enjoy with all your senses. My tours have one main goal: to make them unforgettable for you. Discover the places you visit with heart and passion, from a local and authentic perspective. On each tour, we'll not only journey through time to learn about the history, anecdotes, and curiosities of the area we're visiting, but also its present: recommending local places to shop, grab a snack, a coffee, or a beer, and suggesting possible cultural activities on offer. Maite nos supo enseñar Las Palmas de Gran Canaria adaptando la visita tanto a mí (usuaria de silla de ruedas manual) como a mí compañera ciega. Fue un placer descubrir sus calles, sonidos y rincones de manera tan personalizada.

Maite is a great guide! She gives you very interesting and useful information about the city, the island and even the canaries in general. I learnt many things with her and never got bored during the tour. She shows you pictures during the tour so you can understand better and later on shares with you many interesting stuff like songs, book recommendations etc about the island.
