A former lawyer turned entrepreneur, Ping ran Singapore's very first purpose-built backpackers' hostel for almost 2 decades before COVID-19 forced its closure. A history buff with an immense love for all things Singapore, Ping started On-A-Roll-Tours in 2023 to continue her journey of helping travellers by curating and taking them on walking and/or kick scooter tours. Her tours take participants on a unique storytelling adventure, with the aim of giving them a deep understanding of Singapore in an enjoyable and memorable way. Our guide was outstanding. She took us to the right places, she presented the real life of the Singapore people. She enriched us with very interesting history and sociology knowledge. We were truly satisfied.
Tour: "History, Heritage & Hip: The Kampong Glam Walk" Ping was our guide through Kampong Glam. We were very impressed by her tour and her stories and explanations about the history of this district in Singapore and, beyond that, all the information about the social development of the city and the special concept of coexistence between such different cultures and people. Ping had comprehensive and helpful answers to all our questions, so that we now understand the "Singapore concept" and consider it a good example for other countries. Ping was very attentive and supported the group participants in every way. She introduced us to examples of local food and drinks in the small owner-operated shops, which we really enjoyed. We think the idea of taking photos at various points during the tour is a good one – it's a nice souvenir! Thank you very much!
Ping gave an amazing tour yesterday. What differated this tour is focus on culture and the different history of Singapore and the region. Highly recommend.
Ping was great! She was welcoming, knowledgable and very descriptive of the area visited. Her presentation of facts and accompanied stories were very entertaining. A walk with Ping is most worthwhile and recommended.
We found the tour very informative and entertaining; the guide also waited for us as we were delayed, paid by cash for our tea, remembered everyone name. Took photos, gave good tips also on hidden places
