Our tour guide was Joanna as Richard was unable to attend. Didn't like it at all. She wasn't funny even though she continuosly tried to be. Everything was rushed which was communicated at the beginning but we were literally having a speed walking tour. Probably on the way back was different but I didn't stick around to find out. Also I found it distasteful when she spoke ill of another nation.

As many have stated, Richard was not our guide due to his medical recovery. However, he was extremely responsive to messages and inquiries. I was a bit apprehensive about booking after reading mixed reviews about Richard’s colleague Joanne. However, I am so thankful I did! Joanne was FABULOUS; knew great stories, history, fun facts, and handle all my kiddos queries. We watched the guards from the Mall area, saw them from a distance in front of Buckingham Palace, and then walked to where we could see the Guards change on horseback. The pace and location changes were great. We were glad not to be standing and waiting in one spot for over an hour to get a view. For our family, it was wonderful.

Richard was out recovering from surgery so his colleague Jo met us to conduct the tour. Jo was fun, energetic and full of interesting tidbits of information. She expertly led us to the best spots to view the changing of the guard and stopped along the way at several other sights. We were very impressed by the tour, our kids (8 & 14) stayed engaged and we all learned a lot.

Unfortunately, Richard was recovering from an illness. He was kind enough to avoid cancellation and have Joanne step in. She was just fantastic! She was fun, entertaining, and informative. Although we walked at a very fast pace, it was all worth it. She was very spunky and loud so that everyone around could hear. She even saw an opportunity to get a close up wave with King Charles en route to the palace. This ended up being a highlight of our trip. We loved this tour, and highly recommend it.

This was a great tour but I would warn anyone with mobility issues that the pace is very quick. My elderly mother had a hard time keeping up and did people pushing strollers with children in them.
