Hi! I’m Eve, currently pursuing a PhD in Education at the University of Cambridge. My academic journey began with a BA in Anthropology, followed by a research-led transition into the field of Higher Education Studies. From early on, I’ve been passionate about intercultural understanding and global learning.
Over the past few years, I’ve lived, worked, and conducted ethnographic research across multiple countries — including Austria, Finland, Saudi Arabia, and the UK. Through extended stays with more than five host families, I’ve had the privilege of experiencing local cultures firsthand. I once worked as an au pair while completing my master’s thesis on cross-cultural adaptation, and my fieldwork continues to inform my doctoral research on graduate employability, global mobility, and institutional prestige.
Anthropology gave me the tools to engage with cultural diversity in deep and respectful ways. Since my second year of undergrad, when I first began researching the cultural adaptation of Hong Kong students in mainland China, I’ve been on a continuous journey of exploring how people learn, work, and thrive across borders.
Outside academia, I’m a light entrepreneur and a creative soul. I enjoy experimenting with remote work and digital nomadism, as well as participating in collaborative projects. In my free time, you’ll often find me playing tennis, table tennis, badminton, or swimming. I also love singing, crafting, hiking, and cooking — especially when shared with others from different cultures.
I believe in learning from people — their languages, lived experiences, and embodied skills. I’m always open to meaningful conversations and creative collaborations, especially those that connect education, culture, and real-world change.
Good tour, only 3 people attended, but still not the information was being heard due to busy environment and guide speaking quietly.
Jing gave us a tour through and around some very special and iconic places in Cambridge City. She was warm and friendly, and nicely interacted with the group. It was a good route, particularly enjoyed Kings College and the Chapel.
Jing’s walking tour was the highlight of my trip. Her background in anthropology makes her commentary extra rich — she explains not just what you’re seeing, but why it matters. From architectural gems to student dining rituals, it felt like we got an insider’s look into Cambridge life. She’s friendly, well-prepared, and open to questions. Perfect for students, families, and solo travelers alike.
The tour with Eve was excellent, she guided us through the street of Cambridge with great info and beautiful view. We benefited from her student discount to enter Kings College chapel and, as it was a private tour with just my husband and I, she even invited us to enjoy our lunch at the student catering of her college, making that day a truly unique experience! Thank you Eve!
Really enjoyed the tour, Eve was very kind, clear, and passionate. Highly recommend! 🌟
