Loved this tour! It was wonderful to explore a lesser-touristed part of London. Hinesh was an excellent guide and shared many fascinating stories about Brixton as we soaked up the local vibe. We all had so much fun that we went for Trini food and drinks afterwards!

Hinesh is certainly the guru of all things weird and wonderful about Brixton! His knowledge of British history, combined with his charisma, made the tour particularly engaging and animated. I especially enjoyed the section on the British Empire, which left me with plenty of food for thought. A fascinating and memorable tour!

Hinesh gave us a great insight to the history of Brixton. Until now I had thought of Brixton as far away, but realised how well connected it was to the centre of London. Hinesh was able to make us visualise (including the smells and sounds) what the places where we stopped and its surroundings would have been like - either near the Windmill or Rush Common in 1800s, or around the Wind Rush Square and under the Railway Arches through recent historical events. I am a great fan of guided walks around London and so feel that on this “Brixton Line” walk of Hinesh, I have also learnt a lot and come to appreciate an area in its diversity and its contributions to our understanding of many issues facing our country.

It was not just about Brixton but I learnt about London. Hinesh explained eloquently about how and why 12 rivers were built over; how to know the period when the post box’s were placed; where the word treadmill comes from and so much more. At market I felt like I was on a holiday.

Really enjoyable way to explore Brixton! Hinesh is engaging and knowledgeable, with lots of great stories and local insights you’d otherwise miss. Relaxed, well paced and would definitely recommended!

I never realised there was so much history and places to visit in Brixton I was very impressed with the extensive research Hinesh had done.I learnt a lot and has created an interest and enthusiasm to do more walking tours .Hinesh was very polite,answered all our questions professionally .His timings were great re s.all breaks when needed and the length of the tour .I would thoroughly recommend this tour with Hinesh.Thank yousomuch Hinesh

Starting at the iconic 1816 windmill, Hinesh weaves tales of cinema, statesmen, superstars and sewage, spanning over 200 years of history, bringing to life the history and culture of this fascinating part of London. My excitement about Brixton was thoroughly re-invigorated. I would highly recommend this tour.

The walking tour led by Hinesh had everything I was looking for and more. It was informative and full of interesting historic facts about Brixton and its people from further past to more recent history to the present. Showing a side of London that maybe not every tourist initially might consider but definitely should. Hinesh came well prepared with facts and figures and presented it all in an engaging and truly entertaining way. I will definitely recommend his tour to any visiting friends in the future.

What a fantastic tour! Have lived in Brixton for years and wanted to learn more about the incredible history of the area. Loads of interesting facts, but done in a fun and entertaining way. Would recommend to Brixton locals just as much as I would to visitors.

Birth place of David Bowie, our family was excited to sign up for Hinesh's Brixton Line walking & history tour. Starting at London's still functioning 1816 windmill (so cool! with local cooperative who've set up shop just next door and are still milling flour) and winding our way along Brixton's history, Hinesh was a fantastic, engaged and engaging raconteur. We pondered population, spotted a gas pipe (just guess what that's for?!), listened for buried rivers, traversed Roman roads and covered Brixton's history from opulence to 1980s riots. He even timed our tour to a thoroughly impressive drum parade through the colorful Brixton covered markets. We couldn't have asked for more and look forward to following the Brixton Line as it evolves! Thank you, Hinesh, for a great day out!
