Chiang Mai is my home town. I've traveled to many countries but Chiang Mai remains my very favourite paradise!

With all due respect to Ms Pailin as she is a senior tour guide doing her best, this tour is suited for a general Western audience with no background knowledge on Thailand. For people who are familiar with Thailand or have academic knowledge, this tour is not a good use of your time here. A surprising amount the information provided was inaccurate, some was due to understandable translation issues eg. temple door guardians =/= angels, but some were straight up wrong eg. saying that the Buddha had 20+ lifetimes rather than 550 as per the Jataka tales. The guide was also unable to clearly explain to me the difference between a northern Thai temple and a central Thai temple, and was unable to point out specific scenes in the old Lanna murals of the Wihan in Wat Phra Singh, despite me asking specifically. The guide is a very, very, nice lady. I can tell she's doing her best and therefore I'm sorry to say that the tour was a disappointment. I hope she will improve as there are not many competent tour guides in Chiang Mai.
Good tour for a free walking tour. Was 18 people which some folks might think is too many.
Amazing guide Pailin....with full of energy and heart...with insightful story of the city and Thai culture....will highly recommend her walk....so good and she's funny too 😇🕺
