Thanks to Bonu for a wonderful tour of Nurullabay Palace in Khiva. She explained in great detail the architecture of the palace and many fascinating aspects of the khan’s life and daily routines of that time. It was clear that she truly enjoys what she does, and the tour was both engaging and very informative.

Gulmira gave a wonderful tour of the old city of Khiva. We walked through beautiful places like the Kalta Minor Minaret and the Kunya Ark, and it was clear that she truly enjoys what she does — her explanations were calm, detailed, and she answered every question. Despite the unusually cold weather for mid-March, the tour was fantastic and very memorable.

Our guide Sarvar is professional and organize the tour amazingly and awasome. He explained every ditail, history with legend and stories interestingly. I can recommend others who want to visit the fortresses and Khiva.Having come back Khiva he guided us and continued the tour in Khiva as well. As he is a local guide in Khiva and Fort.s he could do that for us amazingly.

It was very insightful to visit the Old Khiva with Sevinchoy’s tour. Sevinchoy is an English teacher at a local school, so she speaks very fluent English. She is also very knowledgeable about the history and architecture of the city. It was a bit of a shame that it was the off-season, and because of my schedule we started the tour quite late, so some of the buildings had already closed before five. Overall, I learned a lot from this tour.

I had a wonderful experience on the free walking tour with Shokhrukh in the beautiful old town of Khiva. He guided me through the historic streets with so much knowledge and enthusiasm, explaining the rich history in a way that was both fun and easy to understand. We just finished a walking tour with Charos. She speaks perfect and clear English and knows very well about the old town / history of Khorazm kingdom. She has a very peaceful and pleasant personality, and meanwhile takes care of her guests during the tour. We could get a glimps of history about Khiva and Khorazm area in this tour. Thanks.

I visited Ayaz Qala, Topraq Qala and Qizil Qala, and it was an unforgettable experience Sarvarbek explained everything so clearly and passionately. I really enjoyed my tour with Charos. We booked last minute but this was not a problem. She was awaiting our arrival at the stated point. Very knowledgable and made the tour personal and thoroughly enjoyable!

Shokhrukh was fantastic. I was the only one on the tour, as it is January and freezing, but Shokhrukh spent 3 hours showing me around Khiva, knew excellent details and was happy to take many questions ! Couldn’t rate him higher

Our tour of Khiva with Charos was a very positive experience. We really appreciated that she took the time to inform us that, in winter, museums close earlier and offered to reschedule the tour to the morning so we could make the most of it. Although we eventually did the tour in the afternoon due to time constraints, the itinerary was complete and her recommendations for restaurants and local places were very helpful. Highly recommended.

More than a tour! This was not a typical guided tour. It felt like walking through Khiva with a historian, a philosopher, and a sincere human being at the same time. Of course, the history, architecture, and legends of Khiva were explained beautifully and clearly — but what made this experience truly special was the guide himself. He openly shared personal life insights, thoughts about modern society, identity, and even touched carefully on politics — not to impose opinions, but to help us understand how history still shapes the present. His honesty was refreshing. You could feel that every word came from personal experience, reflection, and deep thinking, not from memorized scripts. What we admired most was his courage to be real. He spoke with integrity, respect, and intelligence, creating space for open-minded discussion. It felt less like “listening to a guide” and more like having a meaningful conversation while walking through centuries of history. Highly recommend to anyone who values depth, truth and authenticity.

Gulmira was really great at guiding us through the whole tour during 3 hours. The tour was very interesting and It really gives you an in-depth idea on Khiva and its history. I would recommend her.

Shokhrukh was very kind and enthusiastic, funny and knowledgeable. His English is very good and you can communicate easily. Thanks to him we managed to see some sites that looked closed, and he explained and gave meaning to the contents in the museums. He was also very nice to share details about his family life and local life in general, which made the experience more than just a city tour. Small clarification for fellow travelers: (almost) all sites in Khiva are included in the 2-day ticket that can be purchased outside the west gate, and there are no options to buy single tickets for each spot/location. So, the requirement of buying the 2-day ticket before the guided tour makes perfect sense.

Shokh is an outstanding tour guide who truly loves Khiva. His deep knowledge of history, culture and local legends made every place come alive. His honesty surprised me and he was very open talking about politics. One of the best tours I have ever had.

Charos was such a gem! She recounted the history of Uzbekistan and Khiva in a clear and memorable style, we learned a lot from her, which we would never know if we looked around on our own. She is deeply knowledgeable and passionate about her own culture and it shows in her guide! Charos is also a very modern and strong woman, we were so impressed with her education and life ❤️ She told us all about Uzbek and Khiva now as well, and it put things in clear perspective. All in all, I could not recommend Charos more!

Shokhrukh is a very nice guide! He is very knowledgable and funny, which is a great combination! He explained us a lot about the history, culture and way of living in Khiva and Uzbekistan! The tour felt really like a conversation, which was great in our opinion. I would definetely recommend it!

Really enjoyed the tour with Nilufar (Lily) - it covered so many aspects! She gave a great overview of the history of the city and region without making it overwhelming with too many dates and names, and tied it into the historic buildings and how people used them. When she found out we would visit the Khorezm fortresses the following day, she included some information about what we would see using exhibits in the local museum, really adapting the tour for us. A really well thought out tour with a very knowledgeable, friendly guide whose pride in her country of Khorezm really shone through!
