Essential Free walking tours of Oaxaca

GuruWalk was a great idea and we got luck enough to have Braulio, a native Oaxacan, guiding the tour! It was a really nice to be immersed in the culture while walking through the street of Oaxaca and getting to appreciate the art, the architecture, and the wonderful spirit of the people. I would recommend this walking tour at the beginning of your visit, so you can get acquainted with the land!

Excellent tour. Carlos is a really top guide, with superb English. After the tour, he shared a helpful list of food and activity tips. Nice balance between markets, historical buildings, and shops. Just the right number of stops. Highly recommended.

Very informative tour, even for people who have been to Oaxaca before. I especially appreciated that the guide gathered the whole group together at each stop and then talked, so everyone could hear.

Great tour with Carlos

A very informative and educational tour by our enthusiastic guide, who grew up in Oaxaca and loved to share his knowledge and experience. I loved the extra detail and stories that you would miss exploring on your own. As well, we have found that most museums, galleries, have Spanish descriptions only, so it’s difficult for us with limited Spanish. We met some friendly travellers also, from everywhere. Muchos gracias! 😊

This walkabout was a very competent orientation to our time in Oaxaca. As well as providing places to further explore and restaurants, our guide spoke of the trees that we were passing & coming events. Pleased to recommend.
