Would def recommend this one. Learned a bunch of stuff about the history of Hiroshima and okonomiyaki while being thoroughly entertained throughout. It's very apparent that Thomas is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what he does making this an incredible experience. Also the food was amazing. Doubt I would have been able to find a place this good (and good value!) without the benefit of an experienced local like Thomas. And apologies to Osaka, but after this I'm always going for Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki.

Thomas is a knowledgeable and entertaining guide! He told us stories about the history of the food and took us to a restaurant with great atmosphere and food - for the tasting. It was really nice - so much so, that we would have enjoyed more: more information about local foods, and perhaps one or two more tasting-stops. Recommended!

Thomas was a great guide, he was extremely enthusiastic about Japan and Hiroshima. He happily answered all our questions and gave us plenty of tips about where to go and what to do. Thomas erklärt ausführlich die Hintergründe um die Entstehung von Okonomiyaki und zeigt einem ein paar Anlaufstellen im Stadtzentrum, die mit diesem bedeutenden Staple Dish von Hiroshima zu tun haben, bevor es zum Restaurant geht. Thomas ist darüber hinaus ein sehr guter Gesprächspartner, der mir beim gemeinsamen Abendessen nicht nur alles zu Okonomiyaki erzählt hat, sondern auch einen sehr guten Abriss über die japanische Geschichte gegeben hat. Ich würde jedem die Buchung der Tour empfehlen und möchte mich noch einmal bedanken.

I had a great time on the tour with Thomas. Walking around the city with him was easy and really enjoyable. He went beyond my expectations and has a great personality. If you want to experience Hiroshima from a local perspective, I definitely recommend him. He also took us to a delicious and affordable place to eat. He was always very kind and answered all our questions with lots of helpful information. I’m sure he can also recommend great places to visit and eat even outside Hiroshima.

This was such a unique way to sample the speciality of Hiroshima. Having tasted the version from Osaka, I now prefer the Hiroshima version more. Thomas was very knowledgeable and shared other significant historical events as well, shifting our conversation from food, culture to history. It was a perfect introduction to Hiroshima. This was simply the best guided tour I have ever had. Thomas was incredibly well informed, funny and could answer every question we had. In addition he gave us a run-down of the history of feudal Japan, which was as entertaining as it was informative. The food was great, but the stories he told were absolutely the highlight of the tour. He even stayed longer to answer all our questions. Such an amazing guide!
