Dominic was fabulous. He iis very knowledgeable about Ponta Delgada and the Sao Miguel, and provided a wealth on information on our tour. I especially liked how he sometimes shared that there is more than one "story" regarding a place or date (i.e. the official story is XYZ, but locals say it is ABC). And that he continues to research and gather more information about that topic. Dominic spoke clearly, and was easy to understand. The length, route and pace of our tour felt about right. We took the tour on our last day on the island. Earlier in the week would have been much better and more helpful to me/us. I would highly recommend taking the tour on the 1st or 2nd day of your visit, if possible. I highly recommend Dominic :-)

Dominic is an energetic speaker who is easy to understand which ensures that you remained interested in his tour while waking through the heat of Ponta Dalgado. The English tours seem less popular here - the hike ended up being just me, my wife, and Dominic. Very enjoyable way to spend the morning.

Loved our neat walking tour of Ponta Delgada today. Our family of four was lucky enough to enjoy a private tour this morning. Dominic was so knowledgeable and exuberant, his passion for this city was palpable. Honestly, the two hours flew by! We all enjoyed the tour; me, hubs and two boys (18 & 21). Would highly recommend this tour!

Hello, I had amazing town during his your. He knows alot of stuff about the island and Portuguese people in general. I learnt much interesting facts. He is funny, he loves Sao Miguel island and made me interested to stories he's is telling. You should join !

A wonderful experience. Dominic talks about the history of the island in (his expression) a three dimensional manner, from the mystical past to the ages of discovery to the present day. He includes local writers, religious events, historical buildings, we walked to a wonderful park to talk about how these islands became the Hawaii of Europe and finished up with advice about where to eat. I recommend this walking tour most highly, am sure you'll have a lot of fun too.

We walked around a lot which was good. If you are looking for detailed accurate historical information, then this isn't your tour. If you want to go for a long walk, then this is your tour.

The guru was able to tell us the basic historical facts and answer questions but overall did not seem as passionate about the local culture as we expected/have seen in most of the walking tours we’ve done. This would have made the tour more captivating and enjoyable.

We went on this tour on Monday and really enjoyed Don's narrative. He has talked to locals and done his own research to get to the essence of what Sao Miguel is all about. We learnt a lot of interesting facts. We were impressed with how Dom tried to tie some historical events to modern day ones--fascinating. We stopped at interesting buildings as well as eateries on the tour. Thank you very much for an engrossing tour, Dom!

Very nice tour, I recommend doing it on the first day so you get to try all the museums and food recommendations!
