Free Tours of Modernism in Riga

I unfortunately forgot the name of our guide, but he was great! He was knowledgeable, funny, and kind. He took us to several locations and told us historical facts about the buildings, but also included some stories about past and current life in Riga, which made the tour more informative and entertaining. I recommend this tour!

Mareks was a great tour guide in Riga. He has expert knowledge about Riga, Latvian history and culture and art nouveau architecture. His tour was engaging and interesting and well delivered in excellent English. Highly recommend booking with him.

I thought Artus really knew the history of Latvia and Riga and showed and explained many significant neighbourhoods and buildings related to Art Deco. I found his talk also illuminated many socio-economic aspects of housing in Riga’s history. I thought he might have occasionally been more inclusive of the one (very able) child in the group!

Excellent tour of the art nouveau edifice in Riga, which our guide Harry interspersed with plenty of information presented in a humorous fashion, making the tour both fun and interesting.

Interessante Führung zum Jugendstil. Mal etwas anderes als die klassischen Altstadtführungen. Der Guide hat ein breites Wissen zum Jugendstil und kann diese Spannend rüber bringen. Das Thema ist aber sehr spezifisch, weshalb sich die Führung an Leute richtet die sich explizit für den Jugendstil und Riga vor den beiden Weltkriegen interessieren.

Excellent tour, with a lot of context about the origins and magnificence of the Art Nouveau in Riga. Arthur provided very useful information with his knowledge and smart sense of humor ( No cheap jokes, to make the crowd smile). A must if you are visiting this city!
