Night Tour Tashkent

The Soviet Evening Tour with Donat was absolutely fantastic and one of the highlights of my time in Tashkent. Donat is incredibly entertaining, knowledgeable and passionate about the history of Uzbekistan and the Soviet past of the city. The tour never felt dry or overloaded with facts — instead it was the perfect mix of storytelling, humor and fascinating historical context. I actually also joined his Old Town & Chorsu tour and would truly recommend doing both tours if you have enough time in Tashkent. You learn so much while having a genuinely great evening. Booked this tour with Donat for the first evening we were in Tashkent, and wanted to dive into Soviet era history and stories. Donat was very knowledgeable, and made the walk very interesting, with a variety of facts and anecdotes. He was also happy to answer questions outside of the Soviet era history, which we appreciated.

Donat has been extremely professional and informative. While rains made it difficult, he still kept at it diligently, and even when the other guests left mid-way, he continued with just me and finished the tour. A thorough gentleman and an excellent guide!

Great tour to end the day, quite chill and since we were just a few people it felt like a friendly walk in the city. Donat brings a personal touch to the history and have a great sense of humor which makes the tour easygoing and enjoyable

I would highly recommend this tour to anyone curious about Tashkent's Soviet past. One disclaimer worth noting: the tour is a specialized, content-heavy experience and not a general sightseeing. Excelente tour que ofrece un recorrido inesperado por el pasado soviético de Tashkent a través de edificios, avenidas y monumentos icónicos, distinto a otros tours quizás más “típicos” por la ciudad. Donat es un guía fantástico, amable, culto y ameno. Sin duda, 100% recomendable! No os lo perdáis!

Donat is a wonderful knowledgeable guide. The Soviet by the night was so very well curated. We enjoyed the conversations, trivia and the humour he brought into the walk. We took more than 4 walks on our trip and all of them were very good But Donat was the best guide, most knowledgeable of them all. Highly recommend his walks. The guy knows his stuff and some more. He entertained all our questions and curated the route accordingly. This walk is a #mustdo in Tashkent.
