Free walking tours in Bishkek

We had a terrific walk with Iksander around Bishkek. We particularly enjoyed some of the quirky information he provided. We also appreciated how open he was to answering our numerous questions.

Iskender is a very knowledgeable guide who presented the information super well! He also answered all our many questions about Kyrgyzstan, its history and culture and I'm really happy I could join this tour in Bishkek.

This was the most informative and enjoyable free walking tour I’ve ever attended. Some parts of this tour was like watching a BBC documentary, but with the added value that Iskender catored to our many questions and fields of interest. A balanced, educated, and entertaining tour. He even accepted us inviting him for lunch afterwards where many world problems were solved. Great day in Bishkek!

We joined Iskender’s free walking tour in Bishkek on August 26, 2025, and it was fantastic! He was super knowledgeable, funny, and passionate about Kyrgyz history and culture. The route was well-planned, and we discovered many hidden spots we would have missed on our own. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Bishkek!

When I saw the tour course and looks like a bit boring and i was right. We were just walking around the park and sometimes, the guide was standing and telling us about history for 10 mins without any visual materials which is too long for me. He could explain the history in front of the statues- ( I understand it was hot outside, so he chose to speak under the shade tho). But the guide was nice and kind with lots of knowledge and history of Kyrgyzstan, and also he answered my questions very well. Thanks

We really enjoyed our tour in Bishkek with Iskender. He gave us a great background on the country’s history, especially the 20th century and the Soviet era, as well as recent events. He showed us various monuments and sculptures, using them as a starting point to explain key aspects of the country. His tone was very clear and didactic, he transmitted a sense of calm, and you could feel he is truly passionate about his country and the culture it is rooted in. The tour was also relatively short, which we really appreciated on such a hot day as the information was concise and never overwhelming. Excellent experience.
