Free walking tours in Jewish Quarter

We had an absolutely excellent tour with Hamid. He is a very professional guide and knows Tetouan extremely well, as he has lived here all his life. He took us all over the city and we learnt such a lot from him - things we just wouldn’t have noticed or understood without his guidance. As it was just two of us on the tour he paced it to suit us. We didn’t get any pressure at all to buy stuff in the souks but he was kind enough to take me to buy some fabulous leather slippers when I asked his advice. We could not have asked for a better introduction to this amazing place! Thank you Hamid.

We had a pleasant morning walk with Hamid who showed us the old medina. He brought us to places which we could not find ourselves. We learned a lot of facts about the medina. We would recommend other tourists to book this walk with Hamid.

Llegamos a la hora concertada (12:30h). Nuestro free tour era en inglés puesto que no habíamos encontrado ninguno en español. Esperamos durante 15 minutos pero nuestro gurú no se presentó ni nos escribió para decirnos si había tenido alguna incidencia. Al mismo tiempo empezaba un free tour de otro compañero en español, con el que iban 3 chicas españolas. Nos unimos a ellos (este segundo guía habló por teléfono con nuestro guía Hassan y convenieron que nosotros nos uniésemos a ese grupo). El free tour por Tetuán cumplió nuestras expectativas.

Tetouan is a very interesting city: Old, unique, vibrant and huge. You cannot grasp the whole picture on your own, it would be a giant ball of overwhelming sense of information. El Sr. Hamid nos ha hecho una visita guiada excelente, de tres horas, por toda la medina. Lo ha explicado todo muy bien, se detuvo en todo lo que nos interesa, hemos entrado en varios riad y palacetes y un bazar para ver por dentro. Sin embargo, al contrario que con otros guias, nunca nos hemos sentido presionadas para comprar en ningún momento del tour. Estamos muy agradecidas por sus explicaciones.

Uns hat die Tour mit Hamid sehr gut gefallen. Er hat uns viele Ecken von Tetouan gezeigt, ist mit uns in typische Riads hineingegangen, hat uns bei einem typischen Bäcker kosten lassen und uns mit großer Ruhe alles erklärt. Die Tour dauerte fast drei Stunden und wir haben sie sehr genossen! Am Schluss hat Hamid uns noch geholfen, ein kleines logistisches Problem mit unserem Fahrer zu lösen. Vielen Dank, Hamid!
