VENI VIDI VISIT’s Rome Free Walking Tour is a pleasant walk among friends! Thanks to our expert local guides, you’ll learn, in a fun way, amazing facts about history, people and everything that made Rome so great. Starting from the ancient Chariot race stadium, we’ll visit the Aventine hill with its early-Christian churches, gardens, views and its unknown “city within a city“. Then we are off to the cattle market to meet the early Romans and how they evolved from a village to the biggest city the world has known. We will pass through the Theater of Marcellus to the Jewish district, the oldest in Europe, with its charming alleys and cobblestone streets… and there’s still much more to see! Why don’t you join us?

About the tour

Our Trastevere Free Walking Tour guides you in the amazing neighbourhood of Trastevere.

Trastevere has more than 2000 years of history and a remarkable amount of unique artworks. Follow us around its narrow streets, treasures, legends and amazing churches.

First of all the walk begins in the heart of Rome in the middle of its iconic Tiber island, probably the smallest inhabited island in the world.

Our Free Trastevere Itinerary includes amazing masterpieces like the ancient Christian Basilica of Santa Cecilia, one of the district’s most stunning treasures; then it also continues among the district’s narrow alleys where you can feel countless centuries of myths and legends. Furthermore, Trastevere’s Free Tour will include also one of the latest artworks of Bernini:”Blessed Ludovica Albertoni” before finally taking you to Santa Maria in Trastevere, the oldest church in the world where you will admire its outstanding golden mosaic.

Follow us around this labyrinth of picturesque alleys and as a result you will discover what made Trastevere, its inhabitants and its traditions so special and unique.

The tour may include a stop for snack or drinks at the end.

The tour was canceled due to too small group of people. We were just dissapointed cause there was no information there is a minimal number of people to make a tour. We showed up at the meeting point and got know we walked whole city for a tour which would not take place. Information about cancelation was expressed by Guru in the unpleasant way, that we felt as it was our fault that other registered people (the day we booked our places there was only 1 spot left to reserve) did not come to the meeting place. A great pity, cause we took part in free tours in numerous another european cities and had never been so dissappointed.

The little bit of the walk we did was good and the guide very knowledgeable, but because of the extreme heat we only did about 20 minutes and that was disappointing. Our first time in Rome and we are staying in Trastevere so we were hoping to get a bit more of a guided tour around so we could get our bearings.
