I am Andrea Kropman, Uruguayan by birth and currently residing in New York. I studied Social Communication in Uruguay, and in Spain I worked for 15 years as Coordinator of Digital Communication. In 2010, I started with the project "Jane's Walks" in Madrid, an international initiative that pays tribute to Jane Jacobs. In recent years I alternated my work as a communicator with the design of tours of the cities I lived in: Madrid, Barcelona and London. Upon arriving in NYC, I became an Official Tourism Guide. You will find me guiding tours of various walking tour agencies and you can check the quality of my work through the opinions of other people who enjoyed my tours. As an inhabitant and migrant from different cities, I have a social and global vision that will provide you with daily information and reveal unknown data.

Tour description

Our path begins in front of the National Library, on 5th Avenue, among the lions, where we will talk about the Club of 400 . The 400 millionaires formed the first New York aristocracy and, through their investment, created most of the monumental buildings that we will see on our walk through Midtown.

We will continue through Bryant Park, where the first International Exposition was held in 1853 , to present technological and industrial inventions. Today, the park is abuzz with activity, both summer and winter. Leaving the park behind, the adventure begins as you traverse little-known passageways beneath the skyscrapers , until you reach the famous Times Square.

We will be recognizing buildings of Art Deco architecture , through the game of identifying logos or products of large companies in the decorative elements of the buildings. In the heart of Times Square, you will discover the magic and origins of the American film industry, in New York at the beginning of the 20th century.

We will go into Calle 44 , to see two enigmatic places. The Algonquin Hotel, where the Circle of Vice was created, the literary avant-garde of the 1920s that would found the New Yorker Magazine in the 1920s. And the Belasco theater, where they will learn about the origins of Broadway.

On the final stretch of our tour, all eyes will shine as we pass through the storefronts of the Diamond District. Next, we will skirt the 19 buildings that make up the Rockefeller Complex , until we reach the square best known for its skating rink.
We will finish the tour at the famous Radio City Music Hall.
I wait for you!
