Tour description

A 1000 years of stories brought to you by a local storyteller. Travel back to the middle ages and imagine how life was when Bruges was the richest city in the world.

On our walk through the medieval heart of Bruges we will tell you about our Golden Ages. But also how we became the poorest city of Belgium afterwards and why we are once more flourishing as a city.

We'll share our stories about love and conflict, about architecture and wealth, why we like neither the French nor Dutch, but also about feminism and finance, and of course tell you about chocolate and beer.

Places & things we'll see:

  • Market Square
  • Belfry Tower
  • Church of our Lady
  • Bridge of Love
  • Canals
  • Rozenhoedkaai or Rosary Quay: postcard picture panorama
  • Fish market
  • Brewery
  • Burg Square
  • Town Hall
  • Basilica of the Holy Blood
  • Palace of Gruuthuse
  • St. John's Hospital

Why choose the Tell Me About Bruges tour?
We'll share the major highlights and hidden gems of the city with you!
Give you a proper overview of the history but also focus on fascinating details even most locals don't know about.
Make sure you leave with plenty of recommendations to make the most out of your stay.

Rain or shine: Hope to see you soon!

Our tour guide's name was Gosia who we felt was fabulous; entertaining, full of information, lively, knowledgeable and extremely well informed of Bruges' history, places to eat, drink and points of interest. This was not my first GuruWalk in Europe, and will not be my last either. I highly recommend taking these tours as early as possible when arriving to a city when possible. These volunteers make visiting other countries and cities very memorable. thank you, thank you, thank you!

Gosia was very open sharing her experience and knowledge about the city. She was also very close to the people in the group so felt that she was connecting to each of us. We also felt that at the beginning of the tour it took a bit longer than expected to move on from the Belfort- the legs got quite stiff from standing in one spot for about 40min.

Pascal was an absolute joy. He was energetic, extremely knowledgeable, with a great sense of humour (bar the Trump joke which fell like a lead balloon owing to the Americans on the tour). Overall, very pleased we took this tour. Pascal is a treasure - thank you so much Ambassadors Tours.
