The Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp, located in the town of Oranienburg in Brandenburg, is one of those places that, difficult as it may be, you should not miss on your visit to Berlin. Built by the National Socialist regime in 1936 to confine or directly murder mass political opponents, gypsies, Jews, later also prisoners of war and finally Jehovah's Witnesses, it became the tomb of approximately 30,000 prisoners of all kinds. A history of barbarism and terror that we will see in detail during our visit, which will begin at the Potsdamer Platz in Berlin. There the guide will raise € 2 donation that the museum's foundation asks visitors. We will depart by S-Bahn (train) to Oranienburg, the closest station to the Memorial, about 35 km north of Berlin. Already in the Memorial we will begin our tour with an introduction of the historical context in which the Nazi Concentration camps arose. You will receive informative material in Spanish in which the different stages of the place are explained among other things. Visit the Sachsenhausen Memorial with a guide in Spanish, certified by the Sachsenhausen Memorial Pedagogical Department (DPMS).
Our tour to the Concentration Camp Memorial departs in front of the Espresso House Café, at Potsdamer Platz n. 10. You will identify us quickly thanks to our Hildegard (office-bicycle) and blue flag with the orange ViveBerlin logo.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
